Tempura shrimp flavored with eucalyptus honey and sesame seeds

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 400g shrimp tails
  • 125g flour
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • Sunflower oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

For the batter, pour the flour into a bowl and gradually add 10 cl of cold water. In another bowl, pour in the egg, beat it, and then add it to the flour in the first bowl. Prepare plenty of oil for frying in a pan.

Meanwhile, brown the sesame seeds in a pan for a few seconds. Dip the shrimp in the batter and then toss them into the hot oil prepared for frying.

Cook for a few minutes and remove them. In a large pan, heat the honey over low heat, then add the shrimp after drying them, remove them and sprinkle them with sesame seeds.

To make the recipe easier, instead of batter, you can simply coat the shrimp in flour and fry them in a pan.

For a lighter version of the recipe, cook the shrimp directly in honey and then sprinkle them with sesame seeds, using only a tablespoon of honey in this case.
